Born in 1982 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Lives and works in Antwerp.

Pol Matthé only makes truly original work; that is, work that evolves. It evolves while it exists, and, once presented, embodies the possibility to evolve again. An archive of components comprises his sourcing pool, for which research and experimentation produce the active ingredients.

He continuously works in physical and active situations. The process and the different traces activated by or resulting from his position are recorded and archived meticulously, always retaining the potential to be elaborated upon.

His archive forms an integral part of his personal practice:
